These words can only begin to encompass my life. My name is Tom Whitaker and during my 27 years on this planet, I’ve taken them to heart. I’ve been: homeless, a cook, a salesman, a golf pro, a ski bum, an evangelist, an entrepreneur, an athlete, a husband, a father, a writer, an executive, and a friend.

After receiving my diploma from the school of life, I entered the mobile industry and have never left. I have created successful sales channels for wireless carriers, been an evangelist for wireless data solutions and mobile marketing, and built great companies.

Most recently, I have held senior sales and marketing positions with Bell Mobility in Canada. I have also launched two successful start-ups. Diversiform Wireless Solutions, a systems integration firm providing customer mobile solutions for small and medium sized companies, and TXT Circle Mobile Marketing Inc., a pioneer in mobile couponing, TXT Circle delivers the right message, to the right people , at the right time using mobile technology.

I believe that the convergence of technology and social behaviour is one of the milestones of human development and that this trend will continue for years to come. The rise of Facebook, Myspace, open networks, open devices, and intuitive applications will stimulate the single biggest shift in consumer behaviour to date and will touch every person on earth. I’ve dedicated my career to studying these trends and will continue to do so.

In my spare time I enjoy books, movies, and spending time with my family. I’m also coaxed onto the occasional golf course and hockey rink. (I’m Canadian. Hockey is in the blood!)
